About the exhibit
Celebrate the heart of Santa Maria's agricultural heritage and the boundless creativity of childhood in the Harvest & Harmony Exploration Zone, a reimagined outdoor exhibit blending hands-on farming fun with sensory, musical, and imaginative discovery!
At the museum entrance, children are welcomed by the whimsical Discovery Farms Produce Truck, a vibrant, repurposed vehicle where little learners can climb, slide, stack produce crates, and hoist giant strawberries using a playful rigging system. This interactive farm playground pays tribute to the Central Coast's rich agricultural legacy and invites children to explore the rhythms of farm life through active play.
Just beyond, nestled in the Dinosaur Forest, children enter a world of sensory and imaginative exploration. Here, the Discovery Truck comes to life with music-making features, tactile stations, and cozy spaces designed for open-ended pretend play. Whether they're making dinosaur sounds, composing tunes on mounted instruments, or exploring textures and natural elements, young visitors are encouraged to move, imagine, and create at their own pace, all in a nature-inspired setting.
This vibrant new zone combines physical play, sensory engagement, and agricultural appreciation, offering families a welcoming, inclusive space where imagination grows and curiosity thrives.
