Parent Café

Children's Resource & Referral places great value on Family Strengthening through their offering of Parent Cafes, which provide parents in the community an open and judgment-free space to come together and support one another on their parenting journeys. These cafes are facilitated in English and Spanish to be as inclusive as possible to all families in the area. The Parent Cafes utilize the Family Strengthening Framework, which focuses on building five protective factors that lead to healthier families: parental resilience, social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, concrete support in times of need, and children's social and emotional competence.

During the cafes, parents can share their experiences, learn from each other, and form bonds over the triumphs and challenges of raising children. The supportive community fostered through these cafes aims to equip parents with greater knowledge, emotional support, and connections to resources so they feel empowered in their parenting roles.

By dedicating itself to these Family Strengthening efforts, Children's Resource & Referral demonstrates its commitment to partnering with parents to nurture the whole family unit. The Parent Cafes provide a collaborative space for parents to keep developing their skills while supporting each other through ongoing learning and growth.
